Bill and Kimpy,
Thank you for your thorough and professional inspection. We learned a lot about our soon to be purchased home and based upon your report were able to ask for needed repairs before we closed. Having a home inspection gave us a better understanding of what we were buying and peace of mind about issues that we had noticed. We were pleased with your work and would recommend your services.
thanks again,
Scott and Meghan
Incorrect HVAC Return Filter Found Nashville TN Inspection

Incorrect size return HVAC filters are sometimes found during a home inspection allowing unfiltered air to bypass the filter and enter the HVAC ducts as well as the unit. This can effect the airflow of the heat and cooling system and can create mold damaging the structures environment. Correct size filters should be installed and changed monthly to help from creating these issues.

Springhill TN Inspections located damage HVAC duct

HVAC ducts should be secured to the floor structure and be installed at least 6″ from the crawlspace floor. This will prevent moisture from penetrating the insulation on the duct causing mold and an unsafe enviroment in the living space above. Often time when work is being performed under the house, the worker will climb over the duct breaking the mounting straps and sometimes bending and collapsing the duct preventing proper air flow to the structure. It can also be pulled loose from the main trunk. This is another important reason one should consider a home inspection prior to purchasing a home.
